UBTech Robotics

UBTECH Robotics Corp Ltd is a Chinese robot maker, a joint stock company incorporated in the People’s Republic of China and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under stock code 9880; its website’s copyright notice runs from 2012.¹² It makes the Walker S series of full-size humanoid robots, aimed at industrial work, and in its results for 2025 it described Walker S2 as the third-generation model, with a hot-swappable battery system for continuous operation.¹

The company’s own figures for 2025 show how quickly its business moved toward humanoids. Total revenue rose 53.3% to RMB2,001.0 million, of which revenue from full-size humanoid robot products and services was RMB820.6 million, up from RMB35.6 million in 2024 and now its largest revenue source; it reported selling 1,079 full-size humanoids, an annualized production capacity above 6,000 units, and a loss of RMB789.8 million, down from RMB1,159.9 million.¹ These are UBTECH’s own statements in a stock-exchange filing.

On MetaRoles, UBTECH appears for what its humanoids are said to do. The filing says Walker S2 is focused on three workstations, handling, sorting and quality inspection, and that it has “gradually become capable of taking over specific job tasks previously performed by humans”, but it names no customer operating a robot in each task, so we grade those cases as vendor claims in the humanoid robots feature.¹ The company is also named among the makers in China’s national pilot of 32 eldercare robot projects, which we count as a pilot with no published results in the eldercare robots feature.³
